Hydrotherapy (Aquatic Physiotherapy) is physiotherapy conducted in warm water. Hydrotherapy is useful when land-based treatment and exercise is difficult due to pain or disability. The buoyancy unloads joints to help establish an environment where pain is reduced.
This will be highly effective for people:
- Suffering from long term pain
- Recovering from injury
- Recovering from surgery
- Seeking injury prevention
- Spasticity and Hypertonia
- Scoliosis management
At Rothwell Physiotherapy we develop a series of pool exercises that are specific to your condition. This helps to restore movement and strength to affected joints and muscles. We also incorporate many of our hands-on treatment techniques in the water.
Rothwell Physiotherapy offers hydrotherapy in a warm, indoor purpose built hydrotherapy centre at Redcliffe.
You do not need to be able to swim to participate in hydrotherapy. Your session can be performed in shallow depths and will be tailored to your level of confidence.
Please phone the clinic on 3204 2193 to request our latest Hydrotherapy Information Sheet to be sent to you.
